What Causes A Sense Of Being Overwhelmed, Shyness And Frustration In A Child?
Hello, my son has been experiencing a sense of being overwhelmed, especially in school for quite a while now. He cannot engage in schoolwork for more than an hour or so without having this feeling come over him. He is also EXTREMELY shy and does initiate conversation that often. He has always been very bright although struggles in school. He is frustrated by this and tends to get angry when discussing this issue more than not. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
You need to get your child counseled by a child psychologist as it would be of great help.
Also, a consultation with the psychiatrist is important to rule out problems like Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder like problems which are seen in children and can be tackled very well with the help of doctors and counselors.
Don't worry I am sure if counseled, your son will feel a lot more comfortable and will learn to interact with people as it is easier to mold children.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
