What Causes A Red Swollen Bump Akin To Concha On My Ear?

I have a red swollen bump on what I believe is my concha on my ear and when I press on it it hurts but also in general it throbs. I don t know what it is or what I should do. Is there anything I could put on it to make the swelling go down and hurt less?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a boil.

A warm compress or heat pad may reduce inflammation and irritation.

This can soften a pimple to bring the pus to the surface.

If a pimple drains in this way, you should clean up the discharge and gently wash the area with a mild soap.

I also suggest using alcohol to prevent infections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
