What Causes A Pulsating Feeling In My Thigh?

Over the past few days or so I ve noticed a strange pulsating feeling in my right thigh (right of center about 6 inches above knee).  It isn t painful, but it is strange in that there is no regular rhythm to it.  There is also a mild numbing sensation like my thy is waking up from being asleep but never quite does. It comes and goes throughout the day, sometimes it s pretty active other times not.  I would describe it almost like a jello type substance is being squeezed through my thigh.  Also, I don t think it s a muscle twitch, since it feels very deep and I don t see my leg moving.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to nerve twitching. It is a nonspecific symptom and generally settles by itself without any definite treatment. If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
