Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Persistent Hard Bump On The Forehead Due To An Injury?
My daughter has had hard bump on her forehead from when she fell at about 15 months. She s now two and a half and has hit the same spot a few more times. It gets swollen each time she bumps it and then goes back down to the original size from when she first hit her head. She was being babysat and fell off the bed, might have hit her head on the hardwood trim around the bed or on the thinly carpeted concrete basement floor. Will it ever go away? I am so worried that this will permanently be on her forehead as it feels as hard as bone.
Hi thanks for your question. Collection of blood under skin and muscles due to trauma cause these bumps, what in medical terminology is called as haematoma.Haematoma usually get resolved in few days, but due to repeated trauma at same site it is not getting resolved.Take Care of your baby, avoid repeated trauma, hopfully it will get resolved in a week time. Hope this answers your question
