What Causes A Painful Lump At The Site Of Drawing Blood?

I had blood drawn from the top part of my left hand before surgery and the nurse had trouble getting it so she was going in and out with the needle. After I went home I noticed a tiny lump. It s been 8 weeks and it s still there. It hurts when I repeatedly press on it or rub it. What could it be? I m worried now, since it s still here.,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
As nurse had repeatedly punctured to draw blood there could be small hematoma because of injury. Apply thrombophobe ointment locally. Hematoma will subside.

Thank you
