What Causes A Painful Blister On The Vagina?

I went to urgent care the day after I realized I forgot my tampon in. She said there was nothing there. After I went to my honeymoon a couple days later, I noticed a terrible odor. After 8 days, I went to another urgent care in Hawaii, only to find that the tampon has been in this whole time. She removed it and I haven t worn a tampon since, but now I noticed a small blister like area on the outside of my vagina. Could this be a side effect? Also, is it common for a nurse to miss a tampon?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Is not much common for a nurse to miss a tampon and this can be another tampon possibly you inserted another next day. I think the blisters you are having outside vagina is not much related to it. I would suggest you to get tested for STD and also do a physical examination.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
