What Causes A Lump On The Lip While Treating Staph Infection?

My friend was diagnosed with staph infection. Before he knew it was staph infection he thought the lump on his lip was just a fever blister. He had told me it was just a fever blister so I had taken a drink of water out of his water bottle. I have a small cut on my upper gum and I am worried its going to get infected with staph. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You do not need to worry. The gums have good blood low and it is very unlikely you will get an important infection by drinking from the glass of your friend. You do not need to do anything special at the moment.
If you get any symptoms or complaints please let your doctor know.

I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.

I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
