I fell on my wood floors and landed on the back of my head. It bled a lot but I finally got it got it to stop. This morning I rinsed the blood out of my hair and discovered a soft, squish bump on the back of my head. I don t have any symtoms of a concussion. What is causing the bump? How do I treat it?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query.
This is probbaly just hematoma or posttraumatic fibroma. In most cases this doesnt require any specific treatment.
Also,if this was not relted to trauma then considering your description this may be some other benign subcutaneous lesion such as lipoma, fibroma or atheroma and if there are no skin changes such as redness, pus discharge or pain and fever then you should not be worried since it can be easily surgically removed under local anesthesia. Then it there are doubts it can be sent to the patohistologic analysis.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
