What Causes A Lump On The Eyelid?

My husband has a lump/bump on his eyelid - it is about the size of a pea and has been there for about a month (he is 71). He is going to the eye doctor in January. Have not seen anything like it before and wondering if it s ok to wait that long....

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The lump in your husband's eyelid could be borderline of a type of infection. This is a common condition which you shouldn't worry much about. It just requires medical treatment or draining. It can be easily done in an OPD. Make sure you visit an ophthalmologist and get it treated. Considering your husband's age, I request you to kindly make sure he's not having any diabetes or cardiac related conditions. If any, then please communicate the same to the doctor. You husband will be fine soon, be assured.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suhas Chauhan
