General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Hematoma is common complication of any surgery, especially hernia repair since tissue around hernia is very vascularized and this may bleed easily. After surgery, there may be some vessel breakage. However, in most cases it pulls back on its own and there is no need for any interventions. You should just apply ice, and rest. Only if there is sign of infection or active bleeding, it may necessiate additional procedures.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
