What Causes A Growing Red Spot Near My Belly Button?

Approximately 6 days ago I had a red spot appear on my belly approximately 2 down and 2 to the left of the belly button. The following day tenderness occurred when touched. The next day I felt a mass deep in my belly fat surrounding the spot which is approximately 4 in diameter. I do not know whether I should go to my primary or my gastro to be seen. It is now VERY painful with touch and has pulsing pain. What do I do? I cannot see what would be the culprit for the pain.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Pulsating tender painful lesion points towards celluitis...it is bacterial infection of skin...It appear as a red, painful swollen area that feels hot and tender to the touch. The redness and swelling often spread rapidly...you have to take a good antibiotic cover like augmentin 625 three times a day for 7-10 days along with topical mupirocin and oral analgesic like aceclofenac for pain relief...thanks
