What Causes A Fluttering, Thumping Sound Below The Belly Button?
I am a 24 year old female. 7 weeks pregnant. Today I have been feeling something odd about an inch below and just slightly left of my belly button. I have a hard time describing it. A fluttering? A thumping? It reminds me vaguely of a feeling I have had on my eye lid/just below my eye in the past that felt like a vein fluttering only a little more intense. If I press down lightly on the area I can feel my pulse but then every so often it ll feel extra hard. When simultaneously feeling my pulse in my neck I do not get the same sensation there. It isn t painful but it is uncomfortable. Ordinarily, I wouldn t be so worried but being pregnant for the first time everything concerns me. I m just wondering if this sounds like something I should go see a doctor about or if it sounds like something with a simple explanation.
Being just 7 weeks pregnant, the pulsating sensation is most probably from the abdominal aorta. This is totally normal and should not be a cause for concern. Pregnancy can show you many things in your body and with its function. Learn to take everything with a pinch of salt.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
