What Causes A Fainting Spell While Running A Marathon?

Hello, My 16 year old daughter fainted at the 2 mile marker of her 3 mile cross country race today. She was hydrated, ate a good carb meal last night, slept well and had a banana with peanut butter and toast 2 hours before the race. Any advice? -Laura

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

There are many medical conditions that cause fainting during marathon.
Some of the common conditions are:
-lactic acid in the blood during the run triggers abnormal heart rhythms and also exhaustion,
-emotional stress,
-dehydration

I recommend to give liquids and rest.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
