What Causes A Dark Painful Spot At The Palatopharyngeal Arch Area?

I have a very bad sore throat recently. The pain is like someone using a sharp object Cutting my throat each time I swallow. It causes me to have slight fever of 37.6 and also causes my voice to change. After taking anti-biotic and anti-inflammatory Med, it slowly recover. I don t have any pain and fever. However, i still feel that there is something in my throat every time i swallow. The area believe to be near my tonsil area ( palatpharyngeal area) and when I look into the mirror. I realise that there a some dark spot just right behind my tonsil, at the palatopharyngeal area. It also causes my throats to be very itchy till I cough..I m a smoker, non drinker. I m concern what is that as it s never there before.
