What Causes A Clear Fluid Leak From The Ears?

I have a clear fluid that seems to leak out of my ear some nights when I am sleeping. It turns into a clear crystalized substance by morning lodged in the crevice of my upper ear. I do not have any ear pain or itching. I have not had any head injuries. Sometimes I do feel like there is a little fluid dripping in my ear during the day as well, but I wipe my ear with a tissue. This has happened off and on for quite some time. Someone mentioned a possibility of CSF.
