What Causes A Change In Menstrual Pattern?

Okay, so about a week and a half to two weeks ago, I got this period that wasn t really like a period. It was so weird, so the first day of this so called period started off really light, which is super weird for me because once my period starts, it comes on hard and doesn t get light till the 5th or 6th day. It was just brown blood, not enough to get in my underwear or anything. Then it completely went away for a whole day and then started up again, but this time it was light pink and still not enough to leak on to my underwear. I didn t have to wear a pad or anything! And then I bled bright red blood for about 2 days(on and off) and then on the 3rd day, it was barely there. Once again, didn t have to wear a pad or tampon or anything. Another thing that was really off about this period was that there was absolutely no cramping, none what so ever. That s extremely out of the ordinary for me because once I start my period (on the first day) my period cramps or so bad that I just sit in bed all day crying in pain. The only sort of pain I felt on this period lasted 20-30 seconds and it was this weird stretching/stabbing pain in my lower right abdominal area and I believe it occurred on the second day of the period when the bright red blood occurred. This period of mine occurred approximately 10-12 days after ovulation and only lasted about 3-4 days. Also, this period occurred about 5 days to a week before my period was suppose to be due. My concern is that it s implantation bleeding, but I m not sure because it was bright red for 2 days and had some clots, but not big ones like I usually get. Like I said in the beginning of this question, it s been about 1 and 1/2 weeks to 2 weeks I just started having really weird symptoms. Well, a couple of days ago I started getting increased mucus and thought I was getting a cold, but it never hits. I just sneeze a lot and my nose runs a little bit. As of today, I started becoming so overheated. Like, my whole face is red because my body temperature is increased. Also, I m very itchy and I m having an insane amount of increased saliva production. Also today, I started feeling quesy to my stomach, so much that I went to the bathroom a couple times and gagged over the toilet. Maybe I m just siking myself out that I am pregnant, but these symptoms are just really weird and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I should mention that my boyfriend and I are having unprotected sex everyday and not pulling out. And I am not on any method of birth control. I know I should take a pregnancy test soon, but I feel like if I see a negative, I ll feel crazy and slightly dissapointed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

-The type of bleeding and associated symptoms are suggestive of some hormonal change in your body. This can be well, pregnancy, which needs to be diagnosed easily by home pregnancy test and USG pelvis if it turns out positive or weak positive (so that needful hormonal support can be given or can be terminated if it's incomplete abortion).

There is nothing to be scared of.one has to face any difficulty boldly and get proper way out. Please be bold and get it done! Periods can get changed temporarily if there was some sickness, psychological or physical stress in previous month of period. There can be hormonal imbalance due to thyroid, ovarian or pituitary problems. All of these to be looked for. Please consult a gynecologist or endocrinologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
