What Causes A Bony Protrusion On The Shoulder After A Brain Surgery?

Following a serious fall requiring the opening of my skull to remove a hematoma on the brain, I developed a bony protrusion on the top of my left shoulder. The left side of my head was the injured side which makes me believe that the shoulder issue is related to the fall. The only pain with the shoulder is when I do push ups and that is not severe. I would, however, like to understand why the knot appeared.

Hello,

According to the history you provide this might also be a hematoma of the shoulder. Also, the fact is that the pain is not severe and the shoulder is mobile. Do not worry, it will disappear slowly and does nor need other things to do.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
