What Causes E.coli Infection And Inability To Walk While On Catheter?

My mother sent home from nursing facility with cathater and u.t.I.(e-coli) with no instructions of how to handle her. Later told she was retaining urine was reason for cathater. Microbid was not working so they changed to tetracycline. She had previously had a VRE weeks earlier. Day brought home she was mobile, as previous week or two, but within 24 hours was unable to get up on walker and move about. What happened?

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that sepsis is very common with UTI which cause her current symptoms. Kindly get a CBC, RBS, urine routine and KFF done and consult your physician for further treatment.
