What Casues Swelling In The Leg After A Sunburn?

My daughter came home from a weekend with a friend on a lake. She got sunburnt mostly on the top side of her legs. She has been having swelling on her left side only from the shin down to her foot. It hurts when she initially gets up after sleeping or sitting for a long time.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of skin infection (cellulitis) is more likely.
Cellulitis is commonly seen with sun burn and beach water.
So better to consult dermatologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory skin.
She will need antibiotic cream and oral painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs to reduce pain and swelling.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
