What Care Should Be Taken For Bronchitis And Sinus Infection?

I have been diagnosed with bronchitis and sinus infection about a week ago. I have been taking 2000 (yes 2,000) mg of Amoxicillin and a taper down cycle of Prednisone for five days now. I still am coughing, wheezing, and go back and forth between being totally stuffed up and blowing my nose for five minutes. I have coughing fits so hard that I have thrown up, pulled stomach muscles, urinated, and have whole body twitches. In addition, my legs and feet are very swollen and it is difficult to walk. I haven t been able to sleep lying down in a week and am developing a stiff neck. I tried taking Mucinex and even my rescue inhaler. Nothing is working. Any ideas?

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of the fact that you have neglected your health & not taken proper treatment in the right time.
1. You have a history of chronic bronchitis associated with sinus infection complicated with swelling of the distal extremities. You are suggested to visit ER, get physically examined. Get Swab & sputum test, CBC, Urinalysis, X-Ray chest, X-Ray PNS done.
2. You need intravenous antibiotics, fluids for severe chronic bronchitis & sinus infection. Oral medications will help after your infection is under control.
3. Swelling of distal extremities is due to peripheral blood eosinophilia. Get treated for eosinophilia. Neglect will lead to the development of Asthma or any other COPD. Stay away from addictions (Smoking, alcohol, drug abuse, etc) if any. Limit the amount of salt intake to avoid further retention of water in your body causing swelling. For allergy control, you can take antihistamines, Levocetirizine. Take nutritious diet rich in iron, calcium & protein.
