What can cause sudden intermittent weakness of the legs ?

I have sudden intermittent weakness in both my legs at the same time. I have a need to sit for fear that my legs will give out. I have never remained standing to see if that would be the outcome. This does not last very long however but it is occuring more often as of late. Any help you could give me with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, codcares My age was in question. I am 60 years young. Maybe this will be an added help.

shortage of blood to the legs. it happens if you are in a position here blood flow to the legs is interrupted. if you finally get up to walk, your legs might give way. happens to me too.

Twice now in the last couple months. I have had a sudden weakness in both legs. Was so severe, I had to sit down. The second time, I was at home, so went ahead and tried walking to my home from the yard and I did fine. Do you know what causes this? I am 62 yrs. old and in good health.

Hello, im 25 years old and a male. I was just outside shoveling snow when i noticed my legs felt a little bit weak and shaky. I was almost finished so i got done and came inside to take a shower. While in the shower i noticed my heart rate seemed a little bit fast, and my head seems a wee bit foggy. Im overweight, 6 foot 1 and 250 pounds but i am scared that this is something very serious and i should consult an ER because i do not want anything crazy to happen. Please let me know what you think.

4 yrs. ago, When I put my weight on left leg, down I went. No warning, never happened before. I have not been able to stand or walk since, without using walker. Have been to Drs.,had test, still no answer. Legs are getting weaker, very shakey. Afraid I will be confined to wheelchair. Do you have any idea what could cause this? Thank you very much. Liz Riley
