Hello,
Faintness usually means low blood pressure. Did you check the blood pressure when you felt faintness? Lying down helps to correct the blood pressure in many cases. The potential causes include (but are not limited to) the following:
-
orthostatic hypotension (trying to get up too fast from the recumbent position and the blood pressure cannot adjust properly)
- neurogenic faintness (usually occurs when too many people gather in a small and warm place and have to remain standing for too long - like in church or a speech)
- cardiovascular causes: an
arrhythmia and other cardiovascular incidents.
- general disorders like
anemia or electrolyte disorders.
- blood loss:
peptic ulcer or intestinal disorders that result in severe bleeding may cause faintness.
We usually have to loose more than 20% of our blood rapidly in order to experience faintness.
The information you've provided does not allow for a more detailed analysis of your situation. If you have more information to share, I'll be glad to make more comments.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
