16 year old boy has been having severe cough but no fever or sinus for past week. He had a case of an unknown allergy & hives 2 weeks ago that went away after 4 days of prednisone & zantac. Took him to pcp last week and Dr. Took xray and said lungs are normal although there are streaks displayed which may be causing the asthma-like symptoms and inflammation which may be caused by allergen remains in the lung. Problem is his cough continues to remain the same and he wretches and gags in the late night. Although doctors said it ll go away with time, he continues to cough & in his sleep he groans. Should I do a follow up appointment with a specialist? We re not sure what exactly is the cause of his issues
