What Can Cause Pain In The Legs After A Long Drive?

I experience pain in my legs which occurs on a long drive. Its not seeming to come from my back or down my leg nerve as in sciatica but more in what feels like the muscles or veins or ?? I m not sure. Its quite widespread around the legs and happens in both legs. If I stop and walk a little bit this eases it. Or if I manage to move my leg (more easily done with the one not operating the pedals), particularly if I bend the knee up towards my body for a while, it can stop for a while. It can at times get quite extreme and concerning. I am usually ok for an hour but if I do a long drive it comes on.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It’s quite common and is due to muscular spasm and sprain. You can take analgesics like acetaminophen or tramadol for pain management and you will be fine. If the symptoms are severe you can go for a Doppler scan to rule out DVT.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
