What Can Be The Reason For Heart Catch?

I had a heart cath three weeks ago. It did bleed post op, I became very ill. the day after. I had a very large hematoma and through a ct scan they found quite alot of free air in my groin and suprapubic area. After waiting one week, I ended up in ICU, then went to emergent surgery. Can you tell me what possibly might have happened. They opened up my groin and placed a Penrose drain. it's a common side effect of cath study. large lump you must be feeling may be a hematoma and it will take some time for it to resolve. Also sometimes artery at operation site may bulge and called as pseudoaneurysm which probably happened in your case. by doing surgery they probably repaired that bulge. so you should be better after few weeks and that swelling will be absorbed. however maintain follow up as advised by local doctor.
