What Can Be Done For Insomnia And Cold Extremities After Withdrawing From Opioid Drugs?

About 5 weeks ago my husband did a withdrawal from the prescribed opioids he d taken for years due to chronic pain. The remaining most debilitating side effects he is still having are insomnia and freezing cold extremities, especially from the knees down. Sometimes it s from the neck up. It s a very uncomfortable feeling and sometimes standing is difficult. Any idea why this is happening or what can be done about it? Thank you.

Hi,

You can take newer drugs like Zolpidem for getting sleep.

Consult a physician and get an ultrasound of upper limp to rule out any possible vascular cause for numbness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
