What are the treatments for Tendinitis of the Foot?

Hello, I was in a minor traffic accident earlier today. Since then the top of my foot has gone from mild irritation to moderate pain. Maybe from slamming my foot on the brakes? I ve self-diagnosed as extensor tendinitis. is there anything I should be doing other than rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tendinitis managed initially with analgesics and bred rest. Most of the cases resolve with this conservative line of management. If the symptoms persist even after this we have to go for next line of management which is steroid injections which shows promising results in resistant cases. Consult an orthopedic and he will direct you accordingly.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.

I believe that I have tendonitis in my right leg. I was in a Colour Party in a Military Tatoo and stood at attention for 15 minutes, rigidly. It is very sore when I get up and I have to say I haven t really stayed off it except to sleep. What would be my best course of action?

I have been having health issues for a long time now. I was always very healthy. I Started to have pain in my knees and lower back a few years ago while training for a marathon. I ran the marathon and then stopped running (as recommended) to recover. It has been one thing after another every since. I have a lot of pain and tightness in my quads and hips. Some days are worse than others but not always due to over doing it. I just can t do as much walking or moving without having a lot of pain. I feel like my memory is not what it used to be and I just can t readily recall information like I used to. People say its just normal aging but it concerns me. I have had neuropathy in my feet and hands for the past 2.5 months. Some days are worse than others. Today I have a lot of pain in my right elbow. I was told I do have some tendinitis in this elbow but today its much worse for no reason. I m very frustrated. I know its not normal and something is wrong but I don t know what is wrong with me. I have had a lot of blood work. I have been told I have an autoimmune disease maybe.

I feel like I have achilles tendonitis (have had some years ago) - I m thinking it s from over use - I m doing a 100 Day Dash with my work and we need to get 10,000 steps a day - I ve been getting close to 20,000 a day just by walking. What can I do to continue walking and getting my steps, yet not aggravating my achilles tendon any worse. Should I ice it at and elevate at night? Could a Tens Unit work for that?
