What Are The Sypmtoms Of Throat Inflammation And Infection?

Yesterday I noticed a small numb near the back of my mouth on my right side at the top. It wasn't painful or anything I could just feel it when I talked or swallowed. Then today I wake up and my gums are swollen on the same side, almost looks like white marks, kinda like a scar that has been left over. And my tongue is white near the back of my mouth, and my throat is red, and kinda has a yellow tint to it. Also my lymph nodes are kinda swollen. What could this indicate?

Hi,
This could be a candida infection but it would be impossible to confirm without examination. I suggest you see your doctor to confirm. This type of infection is easily treated with over the counter medications.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
MBChB FRCA
