My 2 year old daughter just broke a mercury thermometer, I collected some of the mercury from flloor, i am not sure if that is all of it. Since I was not around when it happened, I am not sure if she broke it when she bit it or just dropped it on the floor, My question 1. Should I be concerned? 2. 1. Your child doesn't have any risk if he broke the Mercury thermometer or even if he ingested the mercury. The problem with Mercury is when inhaled.
2. The symptoms of Mercury poisoning are muscle weakness, loss of concentration,speaking and hearing problems, trouble seeing etc.
The time varies from intensity of exposure.
