What Are The Symptoms Of High BP?

When i get stressed i feel my heart rate go up. My husband stresses me out so much. As we were arguing my chest started pounding so hard, and it caused me to.have to breath deep. It happens often when we totally stresses me out :(. I just bought a blood pressure cuff and it said my bp was 184 over 108. Usually its 120 over 80 or around that. . Should i be concerned. ... or is that natural stress. Thank you, Monica

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Brief Answer: Adults who show a large BP response to psychological stress may be at risk for hypertension.

Detailed Answer:
The stress hormones temporarily increase your blood pressure and cause your heart to beat faster.

Some tipps:
Exercise is one of the best things you can do to lower high blood pressure, reduce your sodium intake, drink less alcohol, eat more potassium-rich foods, cut back on caffeine, learn to manage stress, lose weight.
Register every day how much your blood pressure is.
I will suggest you to use for 2-4 weeks twice per day an anti-anxiety pill.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
