Hi, I am Steven I am writing on patients with, Psyschodynamic. She is recently divorced, and has a tough year, and her last child had just moved out. She feels as if she is a dead end job, her last job had less friend s. She seeks treatment for depression. What questions should be asked to her?

Ask her if she has been feeling low persistently for last two weeks or more, if she feels easily fatigued as compared to previously, if she has loss of pleasure in activities which she previously used to enjoy. Also ask her about changes in appetite, body weight and sleep. Find out if she is having poor attention and concentration. Ask if she feels excessive guilt about anything or if she feels hopeless about the future. You must also ask if she has been feeling that she was better off dead. The answers to these questions will give you an idea about further details that should be sought.
