What Are The Symptoms Of OCD?

Hi. I fear i have OCD. Yesterday, I went to wash my legs for germs supposedly transmitted from a certain person. I left the door ajar and I don t remember how much. I doubt and suspect that a certain person looked. It is not allowed in my religion to be exposed in any way. I repeat the scenario and it gives me more doubts. I asked that person in a subtle way about it and he said if he came, the footsteps would be so light i wouldn t hear him. Please, I feel like my heart would burst from clenching anytime due to guilt and uncertainty. Why s that? Is it OCD? How do I let go of these doubts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I believe it is OCD although I would need more detail or otherwise you can get a counselling from a local psychiatrist. Antidepressants along with anti-anxiety pill and mood stabiliser drugs and cognitive behavioral therapy are required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
