What Are The Symptoms Of Lyme Disease?

My 5yr old son was bitten by a tick, his head was slightly under the skin, I removed the tick within 12hrs after the bite occurred, now 2 days later there is a dark red circle with a pus filled bump, should I be concerned about possible Lyme disease or is that normal.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have to treat the infected bite side with disinfectant and antibiotic ointment. Also you can use benadryl if it itches.
There is allways a possibility that it didn't transmitted disease.
You have to keep him in observation for lyme disease symptoms.
Symptoms can include weakness, nausea, fever, vomiting, palpitations, rash, joint pain, swelling, numbness, and confusion.
If he developes symptoms send to doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
