What Are The Side Effects Of Emergency Contraceptive Pills?

i started a new pack of birth control within the first three days of my menstruation. Now its going on day 8 and my cycle hasn t stopped yet. This is my second month of taking birth control and the first month wasn t anything like this. This month has been very heavy and caused cramps which i normally wouldn t get. please help!

First correction to make is it is not 'emergency contraceptive pills'. It is actually regular birth control pills.
Yes, initially, in the first few months, some of them experience heavy bleeding, between periods spotting, prolonged bleeding, cramps, irregular cycles as side effects of birth control pills. However, gradually, it will become regular as the hormone levels stabilize and keeps things happening in time. So have patience and don't worry much about it.
