What Are The Side Effects Of Norifam Contraceptive?

i took norifam contraceptive last june 2014, i had a regular period last june & july.. but come august, i had my period dated aug.29 til now, sept. 19 i still have bleeding! is it because of the side effect of the said contraceptive? my last intercourse with my husband is last june.. i had my transv ultrasound, everything is ok.. pls. answer me. thank u!

Hello,
NORIFAM is an injectable contraceptive and the fact is that injectable contraceptives cause more side efects than oral contraceptives because of larger dose of hormones given at one time.
More than 2/3 of women using injectable contraceptives experience side effects like intermenstrual bleeding,heavy bleeding or no periods in first year of their use.
There is nothing to worry as these are just side effects of contraceptive.
