Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Avodart contains dutasteride, which prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. It is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. Less serious side effects with its use include: decreased libido (sex drive), decreased amount of semen during ejaculation, impotence (trouble getting or keeping an erection) and breast tenderness or enlargement. Pravastatin is in a group of drugs called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, or statins. It is used to lower cholesterol and triglycerides (types of fat) in the blood. Commonly reported side effects with use of pravastatin include: chest pain, muscle weakness or tenderness, alterations of liver enzymes and damage to the kidneys. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
