What Are The Side Affects Of Xolair If Used For Long Term Use?

I have been intubated twice for sever asthma attacks. I have tried almost every regime of asthma meds to no avail. I hv been using Zyflo CR, qvar & advair hfa. These combinations hv worked great for the last 4 years however, recently my body has done some changes and the meds are not working like they used to. I have had 3 hospitalization within 2 months. My ige(?) Levels were at 45 & my doctor wants me to try xolair. My concerns are the side effects such as cancer & hair loss. Where can I look to get statics regarding long term use?

Xolair(Omalizumab) is an injectable drug used to treat resistant asthma(not responding to typical asthma medications) or in patients having elevated IgE levels. Usage of this drug decreases hospitalization and steroid requirement in asthma. ya it has the following side side effects pain viz. joints pain, pain (general), leg pain, fatigue, dizziness, fracture, arm pain, pruritus,dermatitis, and earache. Few cases of cancers and hair loss as side effect was also reported. you need to discuss all these things with your doctor before initiating the therapy
