What Are The Risks Involved In Doing Push Ups In Case Of A Child?
Hi, my son is a very fit; he s been doing gymnastics for years. He wants to raise money for a children s charity to celebrate his 11th birthday and has come up with a plan to do 1100 push-ups in 2 hours. Seems a lot to me, but then I m not as fit as him!. He comfortably does 250 per day in training. The plan is that he ll do them in sets of 10 (at about 1 per second), then rest for the remainder of the minute, etc. Are there any health implications?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, there can be complications like muscle spasm. Also, the age of the child is 11 years which is not suitable for such heavy exercise. It is not advisable to do 1000 pushups at the same time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
