What Are The Recurring Bumps On The Underarms And Stomach?

My 4 y/o son is suffering from skin bumps. There are about a half dozen of these bumps. These bumps generally appear under his arm, the side of his stomach, and he has one on the inner elbow crease. He tells me that these bumps itch after I have noticed them growing larger. He scratches them and they become inflamed. Each bump usually goes away after several weeks. I was told that the these bumps can be "burned off" using a prescribed medication that has the word "bee" in it...some kind of ointment that apparently causes some significant discomfort. Would you provide me with a diagnosis and any other possible treatment options?
