What Are The Open Holes On The Base Of The Middle Toe?

I have a cluster of small open holes on the base of my middle toes. It looks 7 or so small verrucas. I stepped on a thorn (or something like that) about 7 or 8 years ago and it caused a small hole. I got the thorn out, and the hole remained. It has spread to about 7 holes throughout the years. What is it? What do I do to stop it?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having viral warts.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a salicylic acid plus lactic acid lotion like Salactin paint on affected region twice daily.
3. Take a vitamin A supplement once daily for 3 months.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
