Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I need a list of all the meds my son might be taking for cystic fibrosis. I know most are enzymes for digestive purposes. I do know that he s required to take about 45 meds/day. GF Yourselves. this is a matter of my sons health. Not going to pony up $15 dollars. Hippocratic oath my ass.
There are a number of different medications that can be used for cystic fibrosis.
His doctor would be able to provide you with a complete list.
Some of the possible medications that may be used are: (i1)pancrelipase- this is an enzyme and helps with digestion of protein, starch and fat (2)vitamins- vitamin a , d, e and k (3)bronchodilators- these are medications that open the airway eg albuterol (4)mucolytic agents-these help to break down the mucus in the airways eg dornase alfa (5)antibiotics
His doctor would be able to give you the specific ones he is taking.
I hope this helps
