What Are The Implication If Medicines Used After Expiry?

My axiron supply of two bottles is expiry of May 2014? I could not use it so far because I was sick with pneumonia- I wanted to be free of this before I started using. Can I still use it in July and August 2014. What are the implications- just the lower potency, if at all, or shall it be harmful in any way. Please advise

All medicines are basically chemical products and every chemical product has a shelf life ( Means it will be stable upto one particular period ) After the expiry date is over these medicines will start disintegrating or reacting with air and may become a totally different compound whose actions are unknown . So it can be potentially life threatening substance to some harmless substance .

So strogly recommend not to use Expiry Drugs .
