What Are The Effects Of Using Bleach To Clean House On Baby?

Hey I was just cleaning using a multi purpose cleaner with bleach. I didn't realize I was using so much until I went outside and my chest is hurting and I keep smelling a weird smell. Also its an open floor plan where the kitchen is open to the living room. I was in the kitchen and my 1 year old was in the living room. Will it affect her in any way?

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for posting you query at healthcaremagic.com

The smell of bleaching powder like chlorine, fumes are not good for any body (no age bar). Most of them post exposure to this get respiratory symptoms when exposed directly. This can also cause watering of the eyes and nasal dribbling.

But as this not a serious issue, please keep in mind to keep away from basic amenities of house.

If you child is cranky and nauseated give more fluids and keep him away for the room which is cleaned with bleaching powder.

Hope this answer your query.

Please feel free to contact me.

Best wishes,
Dr. Tehzib Saiyed
