What Are The Complications Of Anterior Placenta Previa?
My 20 week ultrasound showed that i have an anterior placenta previa. Not sure if its partial or complete. The tech didn't indicate and so my dr isn't 100% but i'm thinking complete. We also know the baby is breeched which is probably because the Placenta previa (PP)
Has anyone had similar and had a later ultrasound where the placenta moved to success of a vaginal delivery?
Im not too concerned with a c-section, i'm concerned with the anterior placenta previa and worried they have to cut through the placenta to remove the baby which could cause hemorraging or health concerns to the baby.
For now, i'm hoping my next U/S shows the PP has moved but would love to hear from others with the same experience.
There is a very high chance that the placenta will migrate to the upper segment and your delivery will be normal.Only 1 in 5 of lower segment placenta persist in the lower segment at term.
The babies being breech at 20 week's is not a significant finding and baby position is usually checked at 36 weeks to decide on delivery mode. Do get a repeat ultrasound at around 32 weeks to determine the position of the placenta ,if it is still in lower segment ,please deliver in a center well equipped to manage a complicated Cesarean and blood transfusions.
Hope this helps. Regards.
