What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Unprotected Intercourse?
Hi! my last period started on 9th August 2015. I had unprotected intercourse on 20th August 2015. But my cycle usually varies from 30 to 35 days. can I have gotten pregnant? I did a urine test this morning (2nd urine) (26th day) and it is negative. I know it might be too early to detect any eventual pregnancy but I am feeling all sorts of symptoms... could it be my imagination?
It is possible to get pregnant 11 days after unprotected sex. Pregnancy can be detected by urine pregnancy test, however, urine pregnancy test becomes positive 10-14 days after conception. Thus, please ensure that the urine pregnancy test is done 10-14 days after unprotected sex. A negative urine pregnancy test rules out pregnancy for all practical purposes. The symptoms of pregnancy are non-specific and may be shared by other disorders.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for further management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
