What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Plan B?

I took Plan B 64 hours after unprotected sex. I threw up 30 minutes later. ( I was VERY nauseous).... I did not have anything in my stomach at the time except for a little mini bag of lays potato chips).... I am bleeding lightly for the past 3-5 days. The blood is very light nothing like my normal period . Can I still be pregnant?! I am scared! Help please & thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query.
I can understand your concern.

Plan-B if taken as early as possible after having unprotected sex is effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy.
It will decrease the chances of a pregnancy by 85% or about 7 out of every 8 women who would have gotten pregnant do not become pregnant.

In view of having light bleeding which appears to be different from normal period there is a possibility of pregnancy hence repeat the urine pregnancy test on an early morning sample to rule out pregnancy.

Hope this answers your query.

A feed back is highly appreciated.
