Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Are The Chances Of Getting Recurrent Heart Murmur?
MY SON HAD A HEART MURMUR WHEN HE WAS A BABY BY THE TIME HE WAS TWO AND A HALF IT HAD CLOSED UP AND WAS TOLD EVERTHING WAS OK AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, HE HIS NOW 26 AND TODAY I NOTICED HIM CRINGING AND RUBBING HIS CHEST I ASKED HIM IF HE WAS OK AND SAID IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, I WAS WONDERING IF THE MURMUR COULD RE-OPEN?
Thank you for your question! regarding your concern I think that you have nothing to worry about; the heart murmur of your son in his childhood seems to belong to innocent murmurs countered commonly at that age; and there are no chances that it can relapse again now; if a doctor notices a new murmur now by auscultating his heart sounds it is a different thing; I recommend a cardiac ultrasound if that would happen. So the only thing that I recommend for your situation is to perform a simple physical examination check up to your GP. Hope to have been of help to you.
