What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through Anal Sex?

I had protected anal sex with a guy. He later removed the condom after anal sex, and begin rubbing his raw penis against my anus. I also shaved my anus the previous night. Im not sure of his status. And im worried if his precum entered my anus. Is this something to worry about? Can i contract hiv from this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I understand your concern.
The chances of contraction HIV through anal sex is higher than through vaginal sex because of more friction injury.
In your case, there ARE chances of getting HIV in the way you had intercourse, although the risk is low. If it is not more than 72 hours since exposure, you may think of taking post exposure prophylaxis against HIV. If it is more than 72 hours, the prophylaxis would not be effective. You can get you status checked after 6 weeks of exposure using antigen & antibody tests for HIV. (like p24 duo 4th gen test).
Hope this will be helpful.
Do ask if any further question is there.
Thanks for using HCM. Take care.
