What Are The Causes Of Blood And Sediment In The Urine?

I am a nurse. I have a 33 y/of female that is otherwise healthy that has blood and tissue in her urine. UTI symptoms started today. I realize the symptoms are consistent with a UTI, except the tissue in the urine. I am just unsure if this can be a result of a UTI.

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Urine can have rbcs and epithelial cells along with pus cells in infection. However other ominous causes like a papilloma or a renal Stone might lead to blood as well. It is better to get an ultrasound done to rule out the same. Urine routine examination with culture sensitivity will help control the infection with antibiotic intake. But other causes need to be ruled out with ultrasound. Hope I helped you with the query. Thanks
