What Are The Causes Heterogenous Opacity?

After a chest xray my doctor told me I have a heterogenous opacity in the right middle lobe. Not sure what that means and what it is. I am not sick but he is treating me with Cipro and wants a follow up xray in 30 days. What causes this and is it serious. I am 68 years old.

It may be consolidation...A sign of chest infection...A follow up X-ray is required to check whether the infection has resolved
